Proverbs 24:16, “For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again, But the wicked will stumble in calamity.
Getting back up is hard. It’s extremely hard. I mean, what do you do when you wake up in the morning and the day before was a total flop? These are some of the things that have been banging around in my head for the past few days.
But the thing not to do is to beat yourself up about it. Then it’s a lose lose. If we are supposed to love others as we love ourselves, it’s not exactly in our favor to kick ourselves while we’re down. The thing to do is to accept God’s love, mercy, and grace, and know that God fully anticipates the fact that we will fall (not that that necessarily has to mean sin).
A righteous man may fall seven times, but the wicked stumbles. It’s like the wicked is trying desperately to avoid what he has coming. A righteous man, however, accepts his fate, learns, grows, and gets back up.
So what are you waiting for?
Get up!
