John 3:30 — “He must increase, but I must decrease.”
It’s a pendulum, and it can only swing one direction at a time. Either Jesus is increasing and I’m decreasing, or it’s the other way around. What fascinates me about this is the question: what if God has called me to build or create something? Isn’t expression the act of exuding oneself? Is it possible to let Jesus increase in my life by embracing who He’s made me to be and simply going for it?
There are so many practical things I still want to figure out. I want to learn how to walk, talk, think, build, and refine the way Jesus wants me to. To let Him increase in my life as He works through me in the way He chooses.
Ultimately, God has already given us countless commands in His Word to obey. And honestly, that’s enough. In striving to obey, we’ll feel the flesh dying while we sense Jesus rising up in all kinds of situations.
Let’s commit to this pendulum.
Let’s let Him increase a hundredfold.
