C. J. MURRAY

This blog began in 2013 and is a record of my story as a Christian, as a musician, and as a flawed person as a whole.

I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and moved to Plymouth, Minnesota when I was 4. I attended Fourth Baptist Christian School k4 – 12th grade. I traveled with The Academy of Arts the summers after my Sophomore and Junior years of high-school. The summer before I went to college, I attended the very last 9-week semester of Ellerslie Discipleship Training. I went on to major in Accounting at Pensacola Christian College, which I traveled for as a representative my first summer there. I graduated and went on to get my Masters of Business Administration, only after a semester of Masters of Bible Exposition. Torn between ministry, business, and music, I decided music was the route God had for me, and two years later I became the Audio Engineer for the college. In this period, I married Megan, and she has only added to my life in so many ways. She has been a massive encouragement as I’ve been reinvigorated to create music again, start a podcast, and continue with my YouTube channel. I am excited to see where all this leads in the future.

I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (John 1:49), that He lived a perfect life (Hebrews 4:13), that He died for my sins (I Corinthians 15:3), that He rose from the dead (Luke 24:6), and that He is returning for His Church/bride (Revelation 22:12).

I grew up in a Christian home always re-asking God to save me from my sins just to “be safe.” The truth though is that once God saves a person, he’s saved (Romans 10:9). I recall one night in the 7th grade I came to terms with God,

“I’m broken over my sin (James 4:6-8, Romans 3:23). I recognize who Jesus is (John 14:6, Romans 6:23). I believe in His work on the cross and His resurrection, have asked for forgiveness, repented of my sin, and confessed it with my mouth (John 3:16, 1 John 1:9, Acts 2:38, Romans 10:9). So.. there’s literally nothing else to it! I’m saved!”

A peace came over me and I’ve trusted God for my salvation ever since.
